Uploading images to your timeline at www.liniaa.com is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is drag them into the dialog box when creating a new event. Images will be saved in the order they are uploaded, so the last ones will be at the beginning. You can change the order by drag and drop directly in the dialog box before saving. Double-click them to rename the photos.
If your images are larger in image size than 3000 x 3000 px, they will be scaled down to a maximum of 3000 px in width and height.
Why these dimensions?
The images should have a high resolution but at the same time not use up a lot of memory. The side length of 3000 px is a good compromise between these two requirements.
These dimensions will allow you to make high quality prints in case you ever lose the original file.
In the picture settings on your camera choose 6 Megapixels. This will render excellent quality for both large screens as well as for prints up to 11 x 14″ (28 x 35 cm).
Picture file formats
You can upload both JPG and PNG image formats to your timeline on liniaa. JPG is the standard format. PNG is a format that supports transparencies such as a transparent background which is often used for logos.
Logo with white background
transparency is supported in PNG
Should you keep your original files after you’ve uploaded your photos to liniaa?
Yes, for sure, because if your image is larger than 3000 x 3000 px it will be downsized.
There are many applications for managing photos. However, the simplest solution is to save your images locally in folders and to keep an external backup. We recommend naming your folders by year and month and with a short description of the event. For events of a specific day, the day can be added. Your folders are then easily sorted by date and events can be found through search options.
If you encounter any problems with uploading images, be sure to let us know, thanks.
