If you are a member of a steel band, the urban gardening association, a sports club or any other kind of group, liniaa let’s you beautifully document its history. Upload the most important event photos, invitations, annual reports or minutes and make them accessible to the other members.
Creating a timeline with the help of others
Find a small group of co-members to help you with keeping things up to date and consistently keep the information on your timeline accurate and meaningful. Photographers within your group are ideal for this task. With a Premium plan, you can assign up to three additional administrators, and with a Pro plan, up to twenty.
It’s easier to think about categories from the start
These are some examples of categories that might work well:
- club events
- presidency or other important offices (each a separate category)
- family events
- annual meetings (with agenda items, minutes, annual report)
- financial report and account balance
Your first entries
To create a new timeline with the name of your club, enter a start date and the categories. These can be changed or deleted later if necessary, and you can always add new categories as you go along. For each category you can choose a separate color.
Now start adding an event within a category and uploading images and files. If you need to scan some old photos, it’s best to have them as a jpg or png file.
In case you can’t remember the date of an event, it’s better to choose a realistic date than to not document it at all – the content is more important than a correct date.
After adding some categories and events, it’s a good idea to show your timeline to those will be helping you work on its content. You can invite them via the share button on the ‘My Timelines’ page, as ‘administrator’. As soon as they confirm by email, they can start adding to the timeline.
Share with members of your club by invitation
When your timeline starts to nicely present your club, it’s time to share with all the members. Invite them too, again by using the share button on the ‘My Timelines’ page, but now assign the role as ‘guest’.
Keeping some information secret
If some categories should remain confidential, there is a settings option for that, called ‘secret’. Owners of the timeline as well as administrators can see and edit categories that are set to ‘secret’.
The easiest way to keep your timeline up to date is to continuously create new events as they occur, with a short description and photos. At the end of the year show off your timeline with a slide show. You can choose the time frame and from many other options.
Enjoy remembering all the special moments within your group or make your timeline public by sharing a link.
